Several inches of a heavy, wet snow fell across much of northern New England over the past 36 hours or so, with up to a foot reported in places. This snow weighed down branches, leading to some power outages. Outages peaked Monday morning with about 40,000 customers without power across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
